Have Your Cake and Eat it too at the Factory Sale this Saturday!

As if there weren’t enough reasons to attend our Factory Sale this Saturday, we’ve searched out some of the best “mobile restaurants” in Los Angeles! Here are some of the delicious options you’ll have for eating as you spend the day shopping:

Deano’s Deli

Modernica Event Food Trucks

Deano’s Deli is an east-coast style deli on wheels. Deano’s provides made-to-order hoagies and an array of fresh sides.

According to customer reviews, “Deano’s Deli sandwiches are amazingly delicious.  We get food trucks coming to my work every day, but I tend to skip out on most of them.  But the one food truck I never skip out on is Deano’s Deli.  Their Italian sub reminds me a little bit of the subs I would get at my neighborhood deli back in NJ before I moved here to LA.  I highly recommend you check out their sandwiches.”

India Jones

Chow Truck Modernica Factory Sale

India Jones is a gourmet Indian street food truck serving up “frankies” and curry in LA & the west side. See what customers are saying about India Jones:

“I LOVE Indian food and there aren’t enough good Indian restaurants in my neck of the woods. I was just a few months fresh off a whirlwind trip to India and I had started feening something serious for quality Indian grub when I finally caught this truck. They delivered in spades.”

“Frankie was DELICIOUS. Flavorful, tender, easy to eat, and the curry had a nice spicy kick. The garlic nan was good but I’ll absolutely seek it out for the frankie whenever I see the truck next!”

Sweet Lucie’s

Modernica Sale Ice Cream Truck

We’d like to introduce you to the original, vintage ice cream truck of Los Angeles. The 1959 truck has been owned and operated in Los Angeles, CA as a functioning ice cream truck for over 20 years. Sweet Lucie’s serves handmade, super premium, old-fashioned ice cream and sorbets. They make all ice cream and sorbets in small batches with the finest USDA-organic-certified ingredients. Sweet Lucie’s is the first and only USDA-organic-certified ice cream in Southern California.

Map of Modernica’s 2013 Factory Sale

This year, the layout of the Factory Sale will be a little different. Below is a map that illustrates where you can find particular products and sections of interest. There are THREE areas to shop:

  • The main area, which contains Fiberglass Shell Chairs, Case Study Storage Units, Upholstery, and Beds
  • The outdoor area which features Case Study Stainless and Ceramics
  • The Bubble Lamp building

There will be cashiers to check you out in all three areas. And don’t forget to stop by our fiberglass shell chair factory; it will continue running throughout the sale so customers can watch fresh shell chairs come out of the presses.

An Insider’s Guide to the Modernica Factory Sale

Factory Sale Insider's Guide

If you haven’t been to one of our Factory Sales, then you’re in for one spectacular treat. Every year, thousands of customers line up for a chance to rush through aisles of new, open-box, and vintage furniture of every size, shape, and color.

Since the atmosphere can get a little wild at times, it’s best to know what to expect when you arrive Saturday morning. Here’s a few insider’s tips:

  1. Variety is the spice of life! Shop with the understanding that the factory sale items are seconds, items with discontinued finishes and fabrics, returns, products with slight damage, and over-runs. You may also find products used as props in film and TV. This is a one-day sales event, and there will be no preview available beforehand.
  2. All items are sold as is and all sales are final. Word.
  3. Cash is king! It’s the quickest way to get you through the checkout lines. We will also accept Visa and Master Card.  However, please keep your check books at home. We will not accept personal or corporate checks.
  4. Get in line; we will have separate check out areas, so you can check out in the same area of purchase!
  5. Get your papers in order. Make sure to have a sales person write up an invoice for you before you go to the cashier. Cashiers will not be able to write up invoices.
  6. Are you holding? There will be no holds placed on items during the sale.
  7. Buddy system principle: If you plan to buy multiple items, it would be wise to shop with a friend who could wait in line for you while you shop the sale. Since there are no holds, shoppers will have 15-20 minutes to pay for the items that they want to purchase. After you have finished, you can return the favor. The buddy principle in action!
  8. Does that daybed need a ride? Delivery will be available. Delivery appointments and payments for the items must be made and paid for at the time of purchase. Rates will vary on zones and delivery scheduling will be based on zones. (It’s all very complicated involving many colored charts and graphs. But don’t worry, we will handle it all for you.)
  9. Can’t take it with you? Saturday not a good day to move furniture? No worries, pick up your items on Sunday. Please note that all items purchased on Saturday must be moved out of our factory by Sunday afternoon.
  10. Stay in the (k)now! Subscribe to Modernica’s mailing list for updates regarding this sale, upcoming promotions, and special events. Make sure to Like us on Facebook and Follow us on Twitter for constant updates both before and during the sale.
