Inspire Me Monday: Casa B+B by Studio mk27

Studio mk27 out of São Paulo, Brazil likes to re-imagine architectural norms in family homes. This house, for instance, contains all bedrooms and personal bathrooms on the ground floor, adjacent to the backyard and outdoor areas. All social and living rooms are located upstairs, with a ramp that leads from the front entrance, so that the first floor can be bypassed completely. Combine the unique floor plan with cool materials and textures, killer interior design, and a few George Nelson Lamps, and you’ve got the whole package.

Inspire Me Monday: How to Modern in a London Suburb

It’s hard to believe this home was ever less than breathtaking. Drawn in by the garden and the view, new owners Sue and David Black saw the potential under the dull, dark interiors. With the couple’s shared passion for mid-century modern furniture and an already extensive collection, they’ve created a spacious, light-filled home that displays their treasures beautifully. New Wine Studio by Kevin Oreck is Simply Luscious

Spin the Bottle Wine Studio If you’re the type to “try before you buy,” you’ll adore this new wine studio opening soon in Toluca Lake. Spin the Bottle will allow patrons to sample wines before they purchase – the same idea as a tasting room, with a much larger selection. But that’s not the only thing we love about Spin the Bottle – designed by local architect Kevin Oreck, the space itself is simply luscious.

Design by Kevin Oreck architect

We’ve been long-time fans of Oreck’s work, whose style adapts seamlessly from traditional to modern aesthetics. We’re glad he went with modern on the Spin the Bottle decor, since the cozy sophistication of the place makes the perfect setting for our Fiberglass Shell Chairs and George Nelson Bubble Lamps. Although the new wine studio has yet to open, we’re betting it’ll be an instant hit.
