When Nokia decided to consolidate four Silicon Valley offices into one, they hired the global architectural firm, Gensler to help them solidify a solid relationship between their Nordic heritage and Sunnydale’s northern California vibe. Last month’s Interior Design magazine features a nice glossy story showcasing their success.

Mixing Scandinavian furniture designs, most notable Hans J. Wegner’s pieces, such as the Pappa Bear Chairs (shown above) and his Wishbone Chairs (shown below) with bright color blocking and knotty pine — gives the usually cool Scandinavian touch, a jolt of fun.

Be sure to check out William Bostwick’s story in Interior Design, May 2011 issue.
