Hotel St. Cecilia – Austin, Texas

2009 November 20

Hotel St. Cecilia, named in honor of the patron saint of music and poetry, is a 14 room secluded estate in Austin’s South Congress district and is by far Austin’s most exclusive hotel. Each room-five distinct suites, six poolside bungalows, and three studios-are a mix of Victorian, modern, Texas eclectica and a lot of Rock-n-Roll that only Liz Lambert could serve up. Lambert, a former lawyer, part-time filmmaker and established entrepreneur (She is also the brainchild of the Hotel San Jose) designed the rooms to stir the poet and artist in each of us. She also just happened to create one of the best hotel experiences in Texas.

Your privacy and well-being are ensured by the fact that only hotel patrons and their guests can access the hotel. The hotel has a gorgeous Southern sprawling lawn with outside tables to host power meetings or just relax.  Paradoxically, only minutes away is the South Congress district where guests can explore Austin’s finest restaurants, shops and bars. The best of both worlds if you will.

Often referred to as the Chateau Marmont of the South (the Los Angeles hotel that also boasts of the perfect union of old world and modern in a laid back and private setting just minutes from local hotspots), the Hotel St. Cecilia proves that Austin has grown up and as undeniably set the bar for luxury hotels in the city. Rooms range from $300-600. To host an event, you need only book a room.

“The highway is for gamblers, -better use your sense. Take what you have gathered-from coincidence.” – Bob Dylan
