I recently met LA artist Aaron Seville who makes these wonderful atomic sculptures that seem to be inspired by atomic particle models from science class and the George Nelson ball clock. They manage to work as art without being too Googie. The aesthetic is actually closer to Alexander Calder’s early sculptures than mid-century coffee shops.
