BLU painting a mural on the Geffen Contemporary Wing of MOCA

What seems long overdue, the Museum of Contemporary Art opens Art in the Streets this weekend.  The exhibit is the first major U.S. museum exhibition focusing on the history of graffiti and street art.  Following the history of graffiti from the 1970s to present, the show includes artists from major cities.   Locally, you’ll find work from Shepard Fairey, Craig R. Stecyk III, Chaz Bojórquez, Mister Cartoon, RETNA, SABER, REVOK, and RISK.  The exhibition will travel to the Brooklyn Museum from March 30–July 8, 2012.  Featured New York artists include Fab 5 Freddy, Lee Quiñones, Futura and Swoon.
