Homeowner and experimental filmmaker Laura Purdy collaborated with architect Linda Taalman and landscape designer Laura Cooper to update her families 2,000-square-foot Los Feliz home. The goal wasn’t to add space but, rather, to make the space more practical and personal.

The creative planning sessions took over a year of the women meeting and discussing their ideas, while their children played in the background. This informal meeting of the minds proved to produce playfully provocative results delivered with a thoughtful, unfussy execution of materials.
