29 Questions — A 1972 Q&A with Charles Eames

2012 June 14

Reproduced in House Industries’ typography journal are the 29 questions that Madame L’Amic at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris asked Charles Eames in a filmed interview. The questions were designed to be a part of the Eames’ contribution to the “What is Design” exhibition at the Louvre in Paris. The year was 1972.

An insightful interview which shows Charles Eames to be very deliberate and specific in the thoughts he shares. His answers are concise, terse, and pragmatic. However, at the same time, his style of answering comes across as open, clever, and witty. A very interesting little read.
